Internet-ional: Navigate Paris from Your Phone

Guide books are a great resource for exploring a city, but we’re in the 21st century: ditch the paper and go digital. Below find Instagram and Twitter accounts, along with some apps, to help you discover the best that Paris has to offer from places to language tips to how French speakers see the world.

Instagram

@frenchwords:  A daily update of French words, phrases, and quotes with English translations and pronunciation. A lovely way to learn French, turn on Post Notifications to never miss a chance to learn!

@parisjetaime: Official account for the Paris tourism office: a great way to discover new places in Paris and just learn more about the city in general. They often repost photos, so make sure to tag yours when you’re in the city.

@instagramfr: Official Instagram for the French speaking community: gorgeous photos with stories written in French, bien sûr! It’s interesting to see the world and art produced by French (speaking) people.

RATP lignes: Each metro line has a Twitter account, so you can keep up-to-date in real time of what’s happening on your line.

@paris: The official account for France’s capital, the perfect resource for exploring  the city and it also mentions other useful Twitter accounts frequently. (It’s also the first capital to hit 1 million followers! #1MillionParis) 

Apps

RATP: BestIMG_0944 way to navigate the transport system in Paris and outside of Paris. Keeps you informed of problems, provides the best route to go anywhere, and has maps for all transport lines. 

Allocine: An essential for movie-goers, it provides scheduling information and all the movies currently showing or coming soon. It also can help you keep track of movies you want to watch and TV series as well.
